Human / Animal cloning ......?

I understand an embryo created using a human and cow DNA would result surrounded by the embryo being 99% human and just 1% cow - all I want to know is, WHY within has to be any cow surrounded by the first place? I'm not asking on ethical grounds, I would just close to to know why cow is included.
Cloning is not necessarily genetic engineering. I believe there are law that would control the mixing of human and animal DNA, on an ethical basis..The use of animals "as factory for producing such proteins as human growth hormone and insulin could greatly help human character.
That is a very correct question. Maybe it's so they aren't classed as 100% human, as a result can be treated as badly as the animals are surrounded by labs and stuff.
Testing is why they're being created right? Can't reflect on of another reason to bring on the other hand MORE people into the world.
